The Malostranské square is a monumental and a multi-layered space full of both dynamics and timelessness. We simultaneously mean it to be a square for the Czech, Jew, German, Italian, and Austrian. It is a space of nostalgia, dominated by an exalted energy of the baroque and filled with everyday civic commotion. The volume of the St. Nikolas Dome in the shadow of Hradčany panorama, seconded by a house of profession and surrounded by an assemblage of various palaces creates an exceptionally rich palette of scales. We propose to complete this palette in its smallest form – in the scale of city furniture, small-scale architecture and pavement.
