A refurbishment of a 1920s villa, which belonged to a local renowned factory businessman Emil Pick and was designed by Czech modernist architect Bohumír Kozák. The former villa is to be transformed into residential building. The villa built in the Art Déco style between a year 1928 and 1929, is now in a state of neglect and dismal. Through many years it suffered a series of rebuilds, first into a kindergarten, later a retirement home, but for many years now remains empty. We tried to use the original qualities of the house (articulation of the façades, details) and a reference of another villa Pick located in Prague designed by Ernest Wiesner. The whole roof frame needed to be replaced. The building contains 17 new apartments with a shared garden.
